What happens if my flights change? ✈️ 🔄
Airlines sometimes update their schedules, so it’s not unusual for flight times to shift before you head off. As your holiday provider, we’re here to help you navigate these changes as smoothly as possible.
Major vs. Minor changes
Minor changes: These are small tweaks to your schedule (usually less than 12 hours) that don’t change your departure date or fundamentally affect your trip. We automatically accept these on your behalf to keep your booking moving.
Major changes: These are more significant shifts, such as a change in departure date, a time difference of more than 12 hours, or a flight cancellation altogether. In these cases, you’ll have several options to choose from.
Provisional changes
If your flights have shifted, you'll receive an email directly from Ryanair outlining your options. If you haven't heard from them yet, the change might be provisional. This means the new times aren't confirmed yet and could still revert to your original booking. We’ll be in touch as soon as we have official confirmation.
Your options for a flight change
1. Accepting the change ✅
If you’re happy with the new flight details and your travel dates haven't changed, you can just sit back and relax. We’ll automatically update your flight details, transfers, and any extras, then send you a shiny new booking confirmation.
⚠️ If your dates have changed: Please let us know before you confirm the change with Ryanair. We need to make sure your hotel can accommodate the new dates first!
Log into My Sunshine.
Select Update Flight and fill out the form with your new dates.
Our specialised team will then check the hotel availability for you.
Please note: Extending your stay may incur an additional charge. If so, we’ll be in touch before we amend anything.
2. Choosing a different Ryanair flight 🔄
If Ryanair changes or cancels your flight, you're entitled to move to the next available flight on the same route, or a flight departing one day before or after your original date. Ryanair won't charge you a fee or fare difference for this.
To do this, log into your Ryanair account, select Help, and use their Live Chat.
⚠️ Important: Just like above, please check with us before accepting alternative dates so we can confirm your hotel is ready for you.
3. Choosing a flight with different airline ✈️
If the change makes your flight eligible for a refund and you’d prefer to switch to a different airline entirely, let us know by selecting Update Flight in your account.
🗒️ Note: Additional charges may apply depending on the new flights you choose. We’ll always chat with you before making any final amendments.
4. Requesting a refund 💰
If you no longer wish to travel because of the change, you can choose to cancel and request a refund. Because the flight change wasn't your choice, your hotel, transfers, and extras will also be refunded.
What’s not refundable: ATOL protection, insurance, and any extra charges added to the booking after it was originally made.
How to do it:
Log into My Sunshine, select View and Manage Bookings on the affected holiday.
Select View and Manage Flight, then Manage Flight Booking.
Click on My flight was changed or cancelled and I’m eligible for a refund.
We will process your refund within 14 days.
