ETIAS is currently not in place, it is not due to start until the first half of 2026. Therefore no action is required from travellers at this time.
The European Union will provide updates for travellers several months prior to its launch.
What is ETIAS?
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorisation System.
The rules of travel to Europe will change. Travellers from over 60 visa-exempt countries will be required to have travel authorisation to enter most European countries.
The ETIAS will come into place 6 months after the EES has been rolled out.
