If you’re travelling with little ones, we want to make your journey as smooth as possible. The good news is that most airlines are happy to let you bring a pushchair or buggy along completely free of charge, in addition to your standard luggage allowance.
Here are a few things to keep in mind for a stress-free experience at the airport:
Right to the gate: You can usually keep your pushchair with you right up until you reach the steps of the plane or the boarding gate. This is very helpful for navigating the terminal and keeping the children comfortable while you wait to board.
Getting your luggage tag: Please remember to head to the check-in desk or speak to the staff at the boarding gate to get a luggage tag for your pushchair. This ensures it’s tucked away safely in the hold and finds its way back to you at the other end. 🏷️
Check the airline's rules: While most airlines allow one or two pieces of baby equipment (such as a pushchair and a car seat) for free, every airline has its own specific rules regarding size and weight.
A little tip for your trip 🧑🧑🧒🧒
To be 100% sure of the rules for your specific flight, we recommend visiting your airline's website and looking for their Travelling with Infants or Family Travel section. It’s the best way to make sure you have all the information you need before you set off.
