Whether you’re a carry-on only traveler or you prefer a larger suitcase for all your holiday essentials, here is how to check your allowance and make sure you’re all set for the airport.
Hold Luggage (The big cases) 🧳
Hold luggage is the suitcase you 'check in' at the airport desk before you head through security. It’s whisked away and tucked under the plane while you relax.
Check your allowance: The best place to see what hold luggage is included in your booking is on your Flight Voucher or in the Flight Summary section of your paperwork.
Your Added Extras: If you bought hold bags when you booked, you’ll also see them in your account under Your Added Extras within the View and Manage Flights section.
Double-check split flights: If you are flying out with one airline and back with another, please make sure to check the allowance for both legs of your journey, as they can sometimes be different.
Hand Luggage (The cabin essentials) 🎒
Hand luggage is what you carry onto the plane with you.
Under-seat bags: Usually, a small personal item like a handbag or backpack that fits under the seat in front of you is included for free.
Cabin bags: If you want to bring a small suitcase for the overhead locker, there may be a cost depending on your airline.
Stay up to date: Airlines do change their cabin bag rules from time to time. We always recommend checking your airline's website directly for the latest size and weight restrictions before you pack.
💭 A little reminder: If you have added extra bags directly with your airline after booking with us, they won’t show up on your Sunshine paperwork. Don’t worry, though—the airline will have everything they need on their system!
